HistoriaMC Rules

Last updated

These rules apply to the HistoriaMC Minecraft server, Discord server, website, events, and any other HistoriaMC community space.

HistoriaMC is meant to be a long-term historical civilization server where players can build towns, create nations, trade, progress through different eras, fight organized wars, and create a world that feels alive. These rules are here so people can enjoy that without other players ruining it.

Ask staff if you seek clarification on any rules.

Behavior

1.1Treat Other Players Respectfully

Treat people with basic respect.

  • Do not harass, bully, or repeatedly insult other players.
  • Do not use Discord, towns, nations, wars, claims, or game mechanics to make someone’s experience worse or force them off the server.

1.2No Hate Speech or Discriminatory Content

Do not use slurs, hateful language, or offensive imagery.

  • This includes content targeting race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or identity.
  • HistoriaMC includes historical themes, but history is not an excuse to use hateful symbols, language, or behavior.

1.3No Real-Life Threats

  • Do not threaten violence, injury, death, property damage, or illegal activity.
  • Do not encourage or mock self-harm.
  • Do not threaten to contact someone’s family, school, workplace, employer, police department, or other real-world institution as retaliation.

1.4Do Not Spam

Keep chat readable and usable.

  • Do not intentionally flood messages, spam reactions, mass ping users, or repeatedly send the same message.
  • Do not use excessive caps, copypasta, message walls, or formatting to drown out conversations.
  • Do not create unnecessary tickets, false reports, or repeated staff pings.

1.5No Unwanted Materials

Do not send/post unwanted material in HistoriaMC servers or in direct messages. This includes:

  • Advertisements for non-HistoriaMC related communities, websites, services, etc.
  • NSFW, sexual, gore, illegal, or otherwise disturbing materials.

Privacy and Safety

2.1No Doxxing

This includes:

  • Real names.
  • Addresses.
  • Phone numbers.
  • Schools or workplaces.
  • Family information.
  • Photos.
  • Social media accounts.
  • IP addresses.
  • Private messages.
  • Any other information that could identify someone in real life.

2.2No Malicious Links or Files

Do not send harmful, deceptive, or suspicious links or files.

  • Do not send malware, phishing links, token grabbers, account stealers, fake downloads, or unsafe programs.
  • Do not attempt to steal Minecraft, Discord, email, banking, social-media, or other online accounts.
  • Do not encourage players to download cheats, illegal software, or unsafe programs.

Names and Identity

3.1Appropriate Names

Discord nicknames, town names, nation names, company names, and other visible names must be appropriate.

Do not use names that are:

  • Hateful
  • Racist
  • Sexual
  • Offensive

3.2Realistic Names

Historical, geographic, and real-life names are all allowed as long as they are used in good faith.

  • Do not use fictional names.
  • Do not copy or closely imitate another town, nation, company, player, or server organization to confuse people.

Staff may require a town, nation, company, or player to rename something inappropriate.

3.3Appropriate Visuals

Keep visual identity appropriate.

  • Do not use hateful, extremist, sexual, discriminatory, or harassment-based flags, banners, skins, logos, or builds.
  • Staff may require inappropriate visuals to be removed or changed.

Claims and Land

4.1Respect Claims

If something is inside a claim, do not interfere with it unless you have permission.

  • Do not break, place, open, use, move, remove, or alter things in another player’s town without permission.
  • Do not use modded machines, Create contraptions, pipes, hoppers, vehicles, remote inventories, ships, trains, or entities to bypass claim protection.
  • Do not use lag, bugs, missing protections, or technical errors to do something you would normally be denied from doing.

4.2No Claim Blocking

Do not use claims just to inconvenience or trap other players.

This includes:

  • Surrounding a town so it cannot reasonably expand.
  • Intentionally blocking a town’s road, railway, or waterway access.
  • Claiming land only to stop another town from using it.
  • Making intentionally hostile claim shapes designed to isolate or annoy another community.

4.3No Griefing or Stealing

Do not take or modify things that are not yours.

  • Do not destroy or take from obvious player builds, machines, storage, shops, roads, or public infrastructure in the wilderness.
  • Do not use hoppers, pipes, Create contraptions, remote inventories, hitbox glitches, camera clipping, vehicles, entities, or bugs to reach someone else’s storage.
  • Missing claim protection is not permission to interfere with someone else’s property.
  • Town owners may be allowed to take from plots within the town.

4.4Town and Nation Leadership

Town and nation leaders are responsible for managing their communities.

  • Leaders are expected to manage members, permissions, and local rules reasonably.
  • Town and nation rules may be stricter than server rules, but they cannot override HistoriaMC rules.
  • A town or nation may face consequences if leadership knowingly allows, encourages, or benefits from repeated rule-breaking.

Exploits, Cheats, and Unfair Advantages

5.1Do Not Abuse Exploits

If you find a bug, report it. Do not use it for personal gain.

This includes:

  • Item, money, block, entity, or experience duplication.
  • Rollback abuse.
  • Inventory desync abuse.
  • Chunk or world-generation bugs.
  • Lag abuse.
  • Plugin or mod interaction bugs.
  • Missing protection or permission bugs.
  • Any method used to bypass intended gameplay restrictions.

5.2No Cheat Clients or Unfair Mods

Do not use clients or mods that give unfair information or gameplay advantages.

This includes:

  • X-ray.
  • Freecam.
  • Ore finders.
  • Entity radar.
  • Cave maps.
  • Hidden-player tracking.
  • Movement hacks.
  • Combat hacks.
  • Auto-clickers.
  • Mods that reveal hidden terrain, containers, players, bases, ores, or structures.

5.3No Alternate Accounts

Do not use alternate accounts on the Minecraft server.

Please let staff know if you and another player will be sharing an IP address (someone in the same home as you). Be prepared to show proof.

5.4No Outside Automation

Do not use bots, macros, scripts, or outside software to automate gameplay.

This includes automated:

  • Mining.
  • Farming.
  • Fishing.
  • Combat.
  • Movement.
  • Voting.
  • Resource gathering.

In-game automation through approved mods is allowed as long as it follows progression rules and does not hurt server performance.

5.5Report Exploits Privately

Report them to staff privately so they can be fixed.

Builds, World Quality, and Infrastructure

6.1No Messy Structures

You do not need to be a professional builder, but do not leave garbage around the world.

  • Do not leave large cobblestone towers, floating blocks, lava casts, random dirt structures, or abandoned temporary builds everywhere.
  • Clean up temporary structures after you are done using them.
  • Do not make builds meant only to annoy people or ruin an area.

6.2Fitting the Era

Builds do not need to be perfectly historical, but players should make a real effort to fit the server’s current era.

  • Do not build obviously futuristic, modern, or out-of-era structures before they make sense in the server’s timeline.
  • Not staying accurate to era guidelines may tarnish your town’s ability to be in server media.

Staff may ask you to clean up, move, redesign, or remove something that causes lag, blocks access, damages the world, or clearly does not belong in the server environment.

PvP, Wars, and Sabotage

7.1Follow Server Conflict Systems

When war, siege, PvP, or diplomacy systems are active, follow the rules and mechanics of those systems.

  • Do not use bugs, alts, claim borders, protection boundaries, or technical loopholes to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Do not logout while in the midst of combat.

7.2PvP Is Not Harassment

PvP does not allow players to repeatedly target someone just to make them quit.

  • Do not spawn trap players.
  • Do not use war or PvP as an excuse for harassment, hate speech, or real-life threats.

7.3No Unauthorized Sabotage

Do not destroy towns, farms, machines, vehicles, infrastructure, storage, or businesses outside the actual server conflict system.

A missing protection or technical loophole does not make sabotage allowed.

Lag, Machines, and Server Performance

8.1Do Not Intentionally Cause Lag

Do not build or run anything designed to hurt server performance.

This includes:

  • Lag machines.
  • Entity cramming systems.
  • Infinite item loops.
  • Excessive redstone.
  • Broken Create contraptions.
  • Systems meant to overload chunks, worlds, or dimensions.

8.2Keep Automation Reasonable

Factories, trains, ships, farms, Create machines, and other modded systems are part of HistoriaMC. Use them responsibly.

  • Staff may ask you to reduce, redesign, pause, or remove a system that causes lag.
  • Do not rebuild the same or similar lag-causing setups after being told to remove them.

Reports, Tickets, and Appeals

9.1Report Problems Properly

If a player is breaking a rule or if you come across any bugs or other issues, make a ticket or contact staff.

Try to include useful information such as screenshots, videos, coordinates, dates, player names, messages, and item details.

9.2Do Not False Report

Do not lie in reports, fake screenshots, alter evidence, or try to frame another player.

Do not use tickets as a way to harass someone or get revenge.

9.3Keep Appeals Respectful

You are allowed to appeal punishments, but appeals need to be respectful and honest.

  • Do not spam staff.
  • Do not insult staff or pressure players to influence an appeal.
  • Explain what happened and provide actual information for staff to review.

Staff Decisions and Common Sense

10.1Staff May Use Judgment

Not every possible bad action can be listed in these rules.

Staff may act when someone is clearly trying to:

  • Harm another player.
  • Ruin the experience for others.
  • Gain an unfair advantage.
  • Abuse a bug or loophole.
  • Damage the economy.
  • Cause lag.
  • Bypass progression.
  • Evade punishment.
  • Interfere with another player’s property.

10.2Punishments May Vary

Punishments can include warnings, mutes, Discord timeouts, item removal, rollbacks, economy corrections, claim removal, temporary bans, permanent bans, or other reasonable staff action.

10.3Use Common Sense

  • Do not be unfair.
  • Do not ruin things for other people.
  • Do not abuse bugs or technical loopholes.
  • Do not interfere with property that is not yours.
  • Ask staff before doing something when you are unsure.
